Now, Valorant’s ranked Competitive mode is live for anyone with access to the Valorant closed beta. The new competitive mode is available alongside unrated mode. When you unlock Competitive mode, so you are able to play a certain number of placement matches that will earn you your first rank.

You may have some questions about how Valorant’s ranked system works, how many unrated matches do you need to play before ranked mode unlocks and how do you earn your first rank. As we know that Valorant has eight total ranks. Similiar to League of Legends, the Valorant ranks start at Iron and progress through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond before breaking off into two new ranks: Immortal and the top “Valorant” rank. Riot Games gave some hints regarding the stats which Valorant is using to place the players after their competitive placements. According to the Valorant blog, winning is the most important factor in both where a user places after their placements and how quickly they rank up afterward.

HOW MANY GAMES TO GET RANKED IN VALORANT?

If you want to unlock Valorant’s ranked mode which is officially named Competitive mode, so you have to complete 20 Unrated matches. It does not matter if you win or lose, you only have to play 20 regular games through to completion. Winning or losing Unrated matches will have no effect on your rank when you do unlock the Competitive mode. You are only graded on your performance in the Competitive ranked match.

HOW MANY PLACEMENT MATCHES TO GET RANKED?

If you want to get your first rank, so you have to complete a total of five placement matches in the Competitive mode. Your performance during these matches are going to determine your first Valorant rank. Apparently, you need to find the list of possible ranks and skill badges, and a deeper explanation of how Valorant’s ranked system works including ranked tiers.

HOW MANY COMPETITIVE RANKS DOES VALORANT HAVE?

You have to remember that there are a total of eight ranks in Valorant. Each rank has three ranked tiers except for Valorant (the top rank possible). It creates for a total of 22 possible ranked tiers, each represented with its own skill badge. Riot Games has provided an easy graphic showing off its ranked system that you are able to see below.
